A Little About Me!

Hi there! My name is Selah.

I’m a special education teacher, curriculum creator, and the founder of Special Sunshine Learning and Special Sunshine Pathways. I work with a wide range of learners, supporting students with social-emotional needs, social skills goals, and executive functioning challenges in both structured sessions and real-life settings.

I truly love what I do. Every day, I’m reminded that my students teach me just as much as I teach them. It is a privilege to walk alongside them as they grow, build confidence, and work toward their unique goals.

A little more about me. I am newly married to the best guy, and life with him has been such a gift. I grew up in China, which shaped how I see the world and deepened my love for people from all backgrounds. I also have several family members with disabilities, which is what first drew me to this field and continues to fuel my passion for this work.

At the heart of everything I do is a desire to make sure every student feels seen, known, capable, and included.

Special Sunshine Learning was born out of a very real need. I had countless students with social-emotional, social skills, and executive functioning goals but no clear roadmap for how to teach those skills in a practical and engaging way. So I started creating the resources I wished I had.

The resources you’ll find here are tools I have created, used, and refined through real teaching experiences. These are not just ideas, they are strategies that have made a meaningful difference for my students. Each resource reflects hours of thought, trial and error, and intentional design to support a wide range of learners.
